What is a set in tennis?
A set can finish 6–4 or 7–5, but not 6–5. At 6–6 a tiebreak is usually played, and the set is recorded as 7–6. An advantage set, with no tiebreak, continues until one player leads by two games.
Matches are best of three sets or best of five. Since 2022 all four Grand Slams play a 10-point tiebreak at 6–6 in the deciding set.

A player leads 5–4 and holds serve: 6–4, first set.

How many games are in a set?
At least six for the winner, with a two-game lead, or seven if the set reaches 5–5 or 6–6.
Is tennis best of three or five sets?
Most matches are best of three. Men's singles at the Grand Slams are best of five.
